Although it only lasted for a couple of seconds, it was a great sight from my seat in a dark cabin, with only a few reading lights on. It made that evening flight so beautiful and it made me happy to be on board.Mihainoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4532252134636526835.post-68685551838787827312009-07-15T14:06:26.402-05:002009-07-15T14:06:26.402-05:00Like Brad says, "absolutely poetry". I often wonder and try to imagine what the world looks like from 35,000 ft to the person who sees it every single day. I too look towards the sky and wonder if that is you dad.

Reminds me of the song by Pink Floyd, "Learning To Fly"Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17273410956985055128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4532252134636526835.post-44756744989970001142009-07-12T15:47:49.922-05:002009-07-12T15:47:49.922-05:00Wow, best blog post I've read in many a day. Hard to believe there are people that would rather read a magazine than stare at the heavens.

There is a growing lack of respect for you and your brothers... claiming that you're over-paid and that your employer's are robbing us. My response to them is simple... what is your life worth?

Do me a favor (if possible), can you find out how many passengers you've flown over your career?

Good read as always pop!bradcockrellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11479119349632399455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4532252134636526835.post-5522143183686538152009-07-10T08:30:57.954-05:002009-07-10T08:30:57.954-05:00It is always invigorating to me when I see the dar...It is always invigorating to me when I see the dark sky of the east begin to change. From inky black to purple, through the blues and into the orange hues, before our sun finally makes it's appearance.

Standing in the ashen remains of someones life after pulling an "all nighter", The change in sky provides new energy to me, as I know that in a few hours I will be out of the carnage and back into a normal life.

As a side note, every day of my life since age 5 or so, I have looked at the sky and have seen the various aircraft as they fly to their destinations. Every day, except the few days in Sept. 2001, when I looked up and saw only sky.

Thanks for the post.Capt. Schmoehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02394460305247627610noreply@blogger.com
